 • Self Portrait - Portrait Illustration Maker

• WORD Cloud

1. Create a Self Portrait in Portrait Illustration, download and put into your desktop folder.

2. Create a World Cloud with 50 adjectives describing you (see link on right if you need help). Screen shot the Word Cloud. Find screenshot and put in your desktop folder.

3. Open your Gmail acct. and attach the self portrait file and the word cloud file to your email and send it to me.

1. DOWNLOAD practice document here.

2. Save document in the desktop folder with your name. Be sure to put it in the folder for the first six weeks.

3. Watch the video above. It would be helpful to have two windows open. One with the document you just downloaded and another with the video.

4.  Once you have downloaded the document, saved it and watched the video do the following:

  • Correct the spelling and grammar errors in this document. 
  • Add a Header to the top of the page that says, St. Anthony Catholic School and address.
  • Make the words, Computer Learn Program in this document bold
  • Change the left and right margins in this document to 1 in. 
  • Next, put current date in this document where indicated. 
  • Last, remove the name, Douglas H. Ruckert and put your name in the letter at this point. 
  • Make a chart that is titled - How Many Hours A Week I Work On The Computer
  • When you have double checked for spelling errors and made sure you have followed all directions print and turn into Mrs. McNutt. 

Steps to beginning a new iMovie 
1. Open iMovie (it takes awhile it is a very large program)
2. When iMovie has opened click on File/New Event. Put first name in the event window that will open on the left side panel. 
3. After creating the Event it is time to actually create the movie project. On the upper grey panel you will notice a button with a +, click that button, then click on Movie.

4. You will have several choices of pre-done movie themes. If you choose simple you will be able to add your own transitions.
5. Name your movie - the window under that is where your movie will be stored. Choose the event you created earlier with you first name on it.
6. Your project will automatically save itself.
7. When you are finished working on it for the day just close the program.

iMovie Tips and Tricks

iMovie Tips - 
1. Look for your backgrounds & movies you want to use in your movie first. HAVE A PLAN.
2. How is it going to begin? How is it going to end?
3. To find free green screens search (example) 
"free shark green screen" or "free snow green screen". You may not use anything destructive!
4. To download a youtube (it must be one that is legal to download) in the url address type "ss" right after the www. (example - https://www.ssyoutube.com/watch?v=CS
this will open a site called savefromnet. Click download MP4. If that isn't available call me over to help you. The video will download into your download file on the computer.

5. To look for images be sure to search for good quality. Go to Google/images/search tools/Size/Large. When you find an image click on it. When box opens with image click View Image (on right). When the image opens drag it to the desktop then into your file.
6. Don't be afraid to be creative. Although it can not be unrealistic. 
7. Make unusual fonts with highlights and other cool stuff click here to go to pic monkey. Be sure to use a transparent background. Create then download to your computer.

You Can Do ItCreating How to Videos

 Technology needed:  Flip video camera, digital camera, and iMovie

Task: Create a "You Can Do It" video that will be shown to K-5 using the technology listed above. 

Check Out Flip Camera from lab. 

Video must be made to show as a learning tool to be shown to K-5. Video must be a step by step teaching with multiple angles and must show the actual deminstraton. Video will be edited in class on iMovie. Music and recorded audio can be added if you would like. Video should be 5 min. or less.

Tips: Make sure to hold filp camera steady while doing video. May only be checked out one night at a time.

Bring flip by lab and Mrs. McNutt wil download your videos to your imac.
